The story of Odysseus's journey was not only an incredible story in itself. But one part always stuck out to me more than others. His lover, Penelope. Penelope knew that the "powers" that be at the time, required her to re marry. So she begin her tapestry in honor of her husbands "death". Every day she worked. Every night she would undo said work. It was never truly perfect for the concept was always to be "in progress" this continued for 20 years until she was forced into making a decision. Defiant even in her task she came up with an impossible contest. Only she knew, was impossible for anyone else to accomplish this. Many suitors came, none could string her husbands bow and finish the task of the perfect arrow through several small holes attached to wooden axe handles. In due time a man in tattered linens, one everyone deemed unfit and borderline unwell, let alone anywhere near "worthy" of finishing this impossible task. Without hesitation the man strung the impossible bow. And with strength and precision, let an arrow so straight that it pierced the very logic of Penelope's contest. Not knowing how this could even be possible, she became witness to the impossible. And the endless and relentless proof that true love doesn't live in the sands of time or people's understanding of it. Odysseus was home. Rightfully so. And the reason why i preface this beautiful story is because I approach every project of mine with that exact same tediousness in mind. Would Penelope approve? I take pride in my work knowing that every project completed and loved by others, is a step in coming home. Thank you for reading! Enjoy your shopping!
